eSCRIBE is committed to engaging government, businesses, and citizens to shape the next generation of cities

Markham, ON (February 18, 2015) eSCRIBE today announced that it is working with Microsoft on Microsoft CityNext, an initiative designed to help governments, businesses, and citizens reimagine what is next for their cities. For the first time in history, more than 50 percent of the world’s population lives in urban areas and nearly 70 percent of people will live in cities by 2050. This ongoing migration from rural to structured urban areas creates unprecedented changes for governing bodies in the position of managing the public trust. Under the CityNext initiative eSCRIBE will work with Microsoft to help leaders do “new with less,” by combining the power of technology with innovative ideas to connect governments with the citizens and businesses they serve, increase efficiencies, foster a more sustainable environment, and cultivate communities where people thrive.

eSCRIBE’s comprehensive, user configurable, cloud based legislative management platform helps governing bodies modernize democracy for today’s digital world, while boosting transparency, citizen participation and driving efficiencies.

As part of the CityNext initiative eSCRIBE leverages Microsoft’s advanced Azure Platform as a Service infrastructure and fully integrates with SharePoint on premise or online through Office 365.

“Our participation in Microsoft’s CityNext demonstrates our commitment to helping governing bodies innovate now and modernize for the future. The combination of eSCRIBE’s powerful business process automation and real-time meeting support, with Microsoft’s innovative cloud solutions provides us with greater opportunities to help cities, towns, regional and national governments of all sizes transform their operations,” said Robert Treumann, President.

“We are thrilled to partner with eSCRIBE on CityNext. Microsoft prioritizes putting people and partners first in our initiatives and CityNext is no different,” said Rob Bernard, Microsoft Chief Environmental Strategist and noted cities strategist. “Even though cities are feeling the strain from economic challenges, we believe a new era of innovation will create opportunities for people to utilize technology to accomplish what they never thought possible. eSCRIBE’s award winning approach to modernizing democracy is an excellent example of our diverse partner ecosystem, and know that working together we can help cities realize their full potential.”
